Sports injury rehabilitation

Return-to-sport programmes built around load, not just healing — so you go back at full capacity rather than merely pain-free.

An athlete performing a controlled strength exercise

Pain settling and tissue healing are not the same thing as being ready to compete. Sports rehabilitation at Olivrae is organised around that gap — the period after an injury stops hurting but before the tissue can tolerate what your sport asks of it.

How treatment works

We build load progressively and measure it. Strength, power and movement quality are tested at set points, and the decision to progress is based on those numbers rather than on how long it has been since the injury.

What you can expect

Expect a gym-based programme with clear weekly targets, alongside hands-on treatment early on. Your therapist will tell you plainly where you are against return-to-play criteria at every stage.

Questions? You need answer

That depends on objective criteria rather than the calendar. Your therapist will set out the specific strength and movement benchmarks for your sport and position, and you will know exactly which ones you have met.

With your consent, yes. Coordinating the rehabilitation programme with your training load is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of re-injury.

Absolutely. The same principles apply whether you are returning to league fixtures or to a weekly run — the targets are simply set against what you want to do.
