Physical therapy

Hands-on treatment and graded exercise that rebuild strength, mobility and confidence after injury, surgery or long-term strain.

A therapist guiding a patient through a mobility exercise

Physical therapy at Olivrae begins with listening. Before any exercise is prescribed, your therapist spends a full session understanding how the problem started, what makes it worse, and what you need to get back to — whether that is lifting a child, returning to sport, or simply sleeping through the night.

How treatment works

Sessions combine hands-on manual therapy with a graded exercise programme. The balance between the two shifts as you progress: early on we focus on settling pain and restoring range, then move steadily toward strength, control and load tolerance so the improvement holds.

What you can expect

Most people attend one to three sessions a week to begin with, tapering as function returns. You will always leave with a clear plan for the days between visits, and your therapist will review that plan with you as your goals change.

Questions? You need answer

A typical session lasts 30–60 minutes. Most people attend one to three sessions per week and perform prescribed exercises at home between visits. Consistently doing the home programme often plays a major role in recovery speed.

In most cases a referral is not required to book an appointment. Many patients contact us directly and begin therapy without seeing another healthcare provider first.

As your body heals and regains strength you may feel mild stretching or pressure during exercises. Sharp, severe or worsening pain is not normal — if something hurts more than expected, your therapist will adjust the treatment to keep you safe and comfortable.
